The location
One of Hungary's largest technical museums, it preserves and displays the material, documentary and photographic heritage of the Hungarian mining industry. The permanent exhibitions deal with minerals and rocks of great mining value, the art and crafts of mining, the millennial history of mining in Hungary, and the history of higher education in mining. The museum's Mine of Experience is a children's realm where everyone can become a little miner, put on a miner's helmet or a colour guard, slide down into the mine, travel through narrow and dark passages, ride in a chandelier, try out the medieval water extraction device.

The Sopron Museum offers experiential museum education sessions for its permanent and current temporary exhibitions. With the help of our museologists, we offer useful knowledge acquisition, interactive learning and creative activities on a wide range of topics.
