In accordance with the Government Decisions No. 1502/2017 (VIII.11.), No. 1935/2017 (XII.8.) and No. 1706/2019 (XII.10.), free train tickets are available for school classes and their accompanying teachers to visit the exhibition space of the Sopron Museum Fire Tower during the school year. The discount applies only to visits to the Tower of Fire and cannot be applied for visits to other exhibition sites of the Sopron Museum.

Schritte zur Beantragung der Ermäßigung

1. Please make an appointment by e-mail at titkarsag@sopronimuzeum.hu. The Tower of Fire is open from 10am to 6pm, with group appointments given every half hour, as experience has shown that on average half an hour is enough time to visit. Around 40 people can be in the Tower of Fire at any one time. There are 119 spiral staircases leading up to the circle, there is no lift, please take this into account when planning your visit. Telephone reservations are not possible, only reservations requested in writing and confirmed in writing are valid.

2. Please fill in and scan the reception form, which can be downloaded from the Sopron Museum website, and return it by e-mail after you have confirmed your reservation in writing. Once the Director of the Sopron Museum has signed and stamped the form, it will be returned to you scanned and signed.

3. With the signed and stamped acceptance form you can buy the ticket at the railway ticket offices. Please note that MÁV issues free tickets at least 7 days before the start of your journey and that the Sopron Museum takes a few days to process your application.

4. The free travel is available on school days and on Saturdays following these days.

5. At the beginning of the visit, the ticket must be stamped with the stamp made for this purpose in the Fire Tower, and the return ticket is valid only in this way.

6. Admission to the Tower of Fire is subject to a fee, and the current prices and group discount prices are published on our website.
