Sopron and the Crown exhibition - museum education session
- 9400 Sopron, Fő tér 6-8.
- All year round
Although little known, Sopron has been the site of the Hungarian Holy Crown on several occasions, with one king and two queens crowned in the city. There are several exciting stories connected to the crown and the city. We tell thriller-like stories such as the theft of the crown or the destruction of the Macskakő castle, all based on true events. King Matthias' fight for the crown and the involvement of the people of Sopron will also be discussed. A playful exercise sheet will recall the events in Sopron, an animated film will bring the 17th century to life, and finally, together we can re-enact a coronation of the period.
