Visitor policy

Accessibility

The Museum Quarter is only partially accessible for wheelchair users, with a lift from the reception area level. Please ask our staff for information and assistance on wheelchair access to exhibitions and how to get to them. There is no lift access to the Fire Tower.


Opening hours

The Museum Quarter is open until the end of the opening hours published on the Museum's website, except for events held at other times. For events organised outside the general opening hours, the areas and services open to visitors will be determined on a case-by-case basis.


Closing order

The ticket offices close 60 minutes before the closing time of the exhibition, with the exception of the Tower of Fire, where you can buy tickets at least 30 minutes before closing time. Please leave the exhibition areas before the buildings close.


Wardrobe

Use of the cloakroom is free of charge. Please kindly leave your coat, luggage, backpack of any size, umbrella and bag larger than 30×40×20 cm in the cloakroom. Cloakroom lockers are also available to store your valuables, which are free of charge and operate with a "Museum District token". Pushchairs can be left in the cloakroom for safekeeping.


Use of toilets

Guest toilets and baby changing facilities are located on the ground floor and are free of charge for museum visitors.


Smoking

Smoking and the use of electric cigarettes is strictly prohibited in the entire Museum Quarter.


Food and drink consumption

Alcohol, spirits and food are prohibited in the Museum Quarter exhibition areas.


Pets

Dogs and other live animals are not allowed in the entire area of the Museum Quarter (both inside and outside). Exceptions to this rule are assistance animals with a pass.


Asset protection

Please do not touch the exhibited works of art. Please do not bring food, drink, live animals or anything that could endanger the health, safety or condition of visitors or staff or the works of art into the exhibition spaces.


Photography

A photo taken with a mobile phone can be taken with any ticket. The use of flash or photo tripods, selfie sticks and stabilizers for mobile devices is prohibited. Photographs may be used for personal use only and may not be used for commercial purposes. Occasional photography is also possible by prior arrangement and for a fee.


Mobile phone

Please do not use mobile phones in the exhibition areas to disturb other visitors.


Várfalkert playground

You may use the equipment provided in the playground of the Várfalkert only at your own risk. Parents are asked not to leave their children unattended. Climbing the castle walls is strictly forbidden. If you notice any damage or damage, please report it immediately to the museum staff.


Camera system

A CCTV system is in place in the Museum Quarter. By entering the premises of the Institution, the individual who enters the premises consents to being recorded by the security camera system and to the processing of these recordings and his/her personal data (image) contained therein by the Institution for security purposes, for the minimum period necessary for this purpose and in compliance with the rules on data protection.
